"We greet you and all our faithful brethren in the name of our merciful Lord and savior Jesus Christ who is protecting and guarding us during the deadly epidemic Ebola outbreak in our country Liberia.
Thanks for your continue prayers, care and concern for us. My family is doing fine; many of our Church members are doing fine and safe from the Ebola attack. But Most of our Church members and families in Monrovia and in the rural towns and villages were killed by the Ebola some left their wives and children. Thank God our Churches are not close, we have been having regular Sundays worship services, Bible Studies with new groups of ten six males and four females in the “God’s plan for His Church” manual study. The new class is studying from chapter 4, “DEVELOPING FAITHFUL LEADERS IN THE CHURCH” and we have regular fast and prayer meetings during our services and we avoid getting into contact with each other.
For the past two weeks, Ebola cases have dropped, and more sick patients have been discharged from various Ebola treatment centers in and out of Monrovia. Since the month of March to November, nine months ago, the Ebola statistic death rates and infected cases reported in Liberia by the Health ministry are as following: People infected in Liberia were over 4,500, and the Death rates over 2,900. The U.S. military team that came in Liberia to help fight Ebola with others International Communities has built more temporary structures as Ebola treatment centers across the country, and has greatly help in the reduction of cases. Thank God for the International Communities to quickly come to our aids with treatments and the building of treatment centers. Please continue to pray with us as there are few cases in some towns and villages out of Monrovia and others are still in treatment centers in Monrovia and it can spread by an infected person from one place to another.
The outbreak has led us to some very difficult circumstances and shortages of basic necessities. We find these conditions hard to understand and no doubt God is speaking to us through them. This situation has been a great opportunity to bring people to the saving knowledge of Christ. Our Lord Jesus knows the suffering that His church is passing through, we are members of that one body and when one member suffers, we all suffer. However, we can strengthen one another too and when we all work together in prayer and in practical encouragement then we can take courage and know that even these difficult times can be for the glory of God.
To God be the glory, as the Lord is using this crisis to bring people closer to Him, Satan is also trying to create a stumbling block to the work of the Church. In early November, the Liberian President Madam Ellen Johnson Selief was requesting for an additional power from the Legislative and Judicial branch of government to stop people from attending churches, since public gathering, schools and private sectors has already been shut down. But as God would have it, since the middle of November the cases has drop miraculously and the Law makers, Senators and Representatives has refused to sign the document for her extra executive power to stop people from attending Church services.
We need your continue prayers! Living conditions have not yet return to normal in the Liberia. For the past nine months, every activity was shut down in the country. Government Institutions, privates sectors, Schools and many agencies has closed making living condition very difficult. We thank God for the help from our brethren!"
