We continue our look at Jesus’ Command to “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.” (Mark 16:15). Jesus' last words to the disciples according to Luke in Acts 1:8 give us further insight into HOW this command will be carried out. In this blog, I will let you discover some of the critical elements of Jesus words.
What is God’s “power” according to Acts 1:8?
When will his disciples receive this “power” according to Acts 1:8?
What will his disciples become when they receive this “power” according to Acts 1:8?
Where will his disciples be a “witness” according to Acts 1:8?
When was the promised Holy Spirit sent to His disciples according to Acts 2:1-4?
Since the Holy Spirit did come at Pentecost, why does the church today look and act as if He has not come and is not here (pre-Pentecost or before Pentecost)? As we will see throughout the Book of Acts, the disciples, and those that became apostles, were filled with the power of the Holy Spirit and accomplished exactly what Jesus sent them to do. They turned the world up-side-down!
Why are we not seeing this same power today, particularly in the western church?
Why are we so slow to obey Jesus' command and reach the unreached? REMEMBER: IT IS HIS POWER, not our programs or man-made ideas!
