Barnabas’ proven character:
- Acts 4:36 – We learn from his name that it means “son of _________________”.
- Acts 4:37a – We see a deep devotion to the Lord in Barnabas by his selling a field and giving it to the Lord’s work.
- Acts 4:37b – He shows submission to authority by bringing the proceeds and “laid it at the apostles’ feet”.
- Acts 9:26-27 – Barnabas was impartial toward others irrespective of their history and was able to recognize the work of God in them. He brought Saul ““to the apostles and declared to them how on the road he had seen the Lord, who spoke to him, and how at Damascus he had preached boldly in the name of Jesus.”
